Experience the ultimate adventure with our full-day Jeep Safari through the Lousã Mountains, organized by Trans Serrano. This guided 4×4 tour takes you to the most remarkable natural, cultural, and historical sites in one of Portugal’s most authentic regions.

Your journey includes visits to four traditional Schist Villages, Trevim—the highest point of the Serra da Lousã—Santo António da Neve, the historic 18th-century Neveiros Reais (Royal Ice Factory), and the scenic Alge River Valley, known for its thriving population of deer and roe deer. Discover the Lousã Mountains and Schist Villages

This canyoning experience takes you deep into the Ribeira da Pena gorge in Góis. The adventure unfolds on foot along the riverbed and includes a mix of jumps into crystal-clear pools, natural toboggans, scrambling, rappelling, and wading through sections of water. The gorge cuts through a dramatic, narrow valley shaped by towering rock walls that make the area almost inaccessible—preserving its rare plants and unique wildlife. Considered the most spectacular canyon in Central Portugal, it blends wild, untouched scenery with countless waterfalls, natural lagoons, impressive boulders, and lush vegetation.

Equipment Provided
The organizing team supplies all technical gear: neoprene wetsuit and socks, helmet, harness, descender, and individual safety equipment, as well as canyoning backpacks, waterproof bags, and sealed containers.

  • A thrilling 35-meter entry rappel into the canyon (optional and dependent on group ability and weather conditions)

This tour follows routes with low technical difficulty and includes visits to iconic locations such as Terreiro das Bruxas, Miradouro do Chiqueiro (stop), Renato’s Swing (stop), among other scenic and historical points that showcase the beauty of the region.

TOUR Premium – 120 minutes
A more complete tour, with an extended duration and medium technical difficulty—ideal for those wishing to explore the Serra da Lousã more deeply. The route features key highlights and essential stops, including Terreiro das Bruxas, the schist village of Casal Novo (stop), Miradouro do Chiqueiro (stop), the Wind Farm Park, Renato’s Swing (stop), and Vale de Nogueira, among other natural and cultural landscapes that make this adventure unforgettable.

TOUR Ultra – 150 minutes
An immersive and extended experience designed for true adventure and nature lovers. This tour reaches altitudes of up to 1200 meters and follows more demanding trails, rewarding participants with breathtaking views. Along the way, stops and highlights include Terreiro das Bruxas, the schist village of Casal Novo (stop), Miradouro do Chiqueiro (stop), the Wind Farm Park, Trevim Swing (stop), Trevim, Cabeço da Ortiga, and Parque do Avelal (stop), among many other stunning corners of the Serra da Lousã in its purest and wildest state.

Where Nature Meets Adrenaline

Aquatic Walking on the Ceira River is a unique adventure that blends nature, excitement, and adrenaline—perfect for anyone looking for a refreshing yet challenging outdoor experience. The route follows the riverbed, known for its beautifully preserved riparian forest, starting at the Monte Redondo Hydroelectric Dam and ending at Casa de Campo Vale do Ceira, the activity’s meeting point.

Along the way, participants cross weirs and rocks, with around five jumps ranging from 2 to 8 meters, depending on river conditions. The experience also includes thrilling moments such as a water slide and a rope jump in true “Tarzan” style from the riverbank. The final section can be completed either swimming or walking along the margin, in what is considered the most spectacular stretch of the river thanks to its lush and dramatic scenery.

Near the hydroelectric station, you’ll encounter a magnificent waterfall, and throughout the route it’s possible to practice apnea for an added touch of adventure. This activity serves as a gentle introduction to canyoning—ideal for beginners—yet still requires some agility and physical stamina.

A Refreshing Adventure in Nature

The Mondego River descent is the perfect adventure for anyone looking for an easy and enjoyable introduction to canoeing, set along one of the most beautiful stretches of Portugal’s longest river. This 12 km route runs from the Carvoeira weir in Penacova to the Palheiros/Zorro River Beach in Coimbra, offering an accessible, fun experience surrounded by stunning natural scenery.

Throughout the journey, participants paddle through a landscape rich in diverse vegetation and have the chance to spot several bird species that inhabit the riverbanks. In summer, small rapids add extra excitement and dynamism, making the descent even more memorable.

Around midday, at approximately 13:00, the group stops along the riverbank for a break and a picnic, which participants should bring themselves. This pause provides time to relax, enjoy the surroundings, and recharge before continuing downstream.

As one of the most popular outdoor activities in Portugal, the Mondego River descent is suitable for all ages and experience levels. It offers a perfect blend of leisure, nature, and discovery in a safe, relaxed environment—an unforgettable way to experience the beauty of the Mondego.

A Relaxed Adventure on Portugal’s Longest River

Trans Serrano offers four E-Bikes for rent at its headquarters: two size M and two size L, equipped with 420Wh batteries and 50 Nm / 250 W motors (up to 280% maximum assistance). In accordance with European regulations, electric assistance cuts off above 25 km/h. Each bike includes a display showing speed, battery level, time, and other useful information.

The E-Bikes offer a range between 30 km and 90 km, depending on the assistance level used—plus any distance you choose to ride with assistance turned off. With three assistance modes, you can enjoy a comfortable and effortless ride tailored to your needs.

All bikes come fully equipped with:

  • Front and rear lights

  • USB port for charging your devices

  • Smartphone holder

  • Anti-theft lock so you can stop with peace of mind

The bikes are water-resistant (but not fully waterproof).
