We had a wonderful stay at Casa Carvalhal.
The beautiful house is located in a pretty small village with several resaurants and is a good base for exploring the area. We were warmly welcomed by Herman and Luc. We stayed in a very comfortable, luxury , clean double room with terrace .There was also a large shared living room at our disposal, where Herman and Luc joinded us for a nice conversation.They were very attentive, with an eye for detail. Breakfast was super with fresh fruits, local cheese and meat, homemade granola and jams. We were here for 3 nights but would have liked to stay longer to view more of the surroundings and enjoy the beautiful garden. Conclusion: if you want, for example, to visit Coimbra or Serra de Lousa with beautiful schist villages, or you like to cycle in a beautiful landscape on the Ecopista do Dao, then Casa Carvahal is highly recommended.
